Ribocil is a synthetic mimic of riboflavin 5’-monophosphate (FMN) that competes with the natural ligand to inhibit FMN riboswitch-mediated expression of ribB; depletes cellular levels of riboflavin with an IC50 value of 0.3 μM and inhibits E. coli growth with an MIC value of 2 ug/ml.
