SIRT2 inhibitor AEM2 (AEM2) is a selective SIRT2 inhibitor with IC50 of 3.8 uM, shows only weak effects on other sirtuins such as SIRT1, SIRT3, and yeast Sir2; sensitizes non-small cell lung cancer cell lines toward the induction of apoptosis by the DNA-damaging agent etoposide; elevates levels of p53 acetylation and increases expression of CDKN1A, PUMA and NOXA.
